Book a Free Consultation

You've Taken the First Step

Whether you booked a consultation or sent a message, here's what happens next—and how to get the most out of your free consultation. Have something urgent in the meantime? Email michael@lehr-law.com.

What happens after you reach out

If you booked a consultation, the appointment is on Michael's calendar and you'll receive an email confirmation with the meeting details. Need a different time? Use the link in that confirmation to reschedule.

If you sent a message, Michael reviews it personally and replies within 24 hours—usually the same day on business days—typically with a link to book a time that works for you.

How to prepare for your consultation

No homework is required—come as you are. That said, having any of these on hand makes the conversation more productive:

  • Existing estate planning documents, even if they're outdated (a will, trust, or power of attorney)
  • A rough list of what you own—your home, bank and retirement accounts, life insurance, and any business interests
  • The deed, if you own real estate
  • Names you're considering for key roles: trustee, guardian for minor children, and agents for financial and health care decisions
  • Your questions—no question is too basic

A note on privacy: Please keep confidential details—account numbers, family disputes, medical information—out of email and web forms. Bring documents to the meeting instead; the consultation itself is confidential. If you engage the firm, you'll receive instructions for sharing documents securely.

Meeting logistics

  • The consultation is free and takes 45–60 minutes
  • Meet at the office, in your home, or remotely by Zoom or Google Meet
  • Evening and weekend appointments are available at no extra charge
  • No pressure and no obligation to proceed

After the consultation

Michael outlines the documents you need and quotes fees upfront—you receive a written fee outline before any work begins. If you decide to proceed, you'll complete a detailed questionnaire, review drafts together (with unlimited revisions during drafting), and finish with a signing ceremony. For trusts, Michael then guides you through funding—moving assets into the trust so it actually works.
